Antalya Teknokent hosted Dr. Mehmet Demiroğlu, General Manager of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), one of Turkey's leading defense industry organizations. During the visit, Dr. Demiroğlu met with Antalya Teknokent General Manager Dr. İbrahim Yavuz to discuss the projects and activities carried out at Antalya Teknokent, the Technology Valley project, and ongoing developments in the defense industry.
The meeting was also attended by TAI Antalya Campus Manager Mensur Tahiroviç. The discussions focused on the projects being conducted at the Antalya Teknokent TAI National Combat Aircraft (KAAN) R&D and Design Center. The role of Antalya Teknokent in the development process of the KAAN fighter jet and its contributions to the defense industry were thoroughly evaluated.
The Antalya Technology Valley project was another key topic of the meeting. Within the framework of Antalya Teknokent's robust infrastructure and innovative ecosystem, ideas were exchanged regarding TAI's planned investments in the region.
Under an agreement signed in 2023, TAI is preparing to construct a new R&D facility within the Antalya Teknokent TAI National Combat Aircraft KAAN R&D and Design Center, which will be utilized for 25 years. This facility is expected to become a significant hub for innovative defense industry projects and R&D initiatives.
Dr. Mehmet Demiroğlu emphasized that Antalya Teknokent offers significant opportunities for the defense industry and stated that TAI would assess potential projects in the region.
Antalya Teknokent General Manager Dr. İbrahim Yavuz reaffirmed Teknokent's commitment to strengthening collaborations in the defense sector and encouraging new investments.
This visit was regarded as a crucial step toward establishing strong partnerships between Antalya Teknokent and TAI in the defense industry. Efforts will continue to position Antalya Teknokent as a strategic hub for defense industry advancements, particularly in the KAAN project.
