The cooperation protocol was signed for "the ANSIAD Antalya Technopark Angel Investment Network" between Akdeniz University Antalya Technopark and the Antalya Industrialists and Business People Association (ANSIAD). Rector Özkan said the investment network would bring business ideas and capital together.

The ceremony held at Akdeniz University Senate Hall was attended by Akdeniz University Rector Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan, ANSIAD Chairman of the Board Akın Akıncı, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Gülbin Arıcı, ANSIAD Entrepreneurship Committee Chairman Işık Yargın, General Secretary Ali Evren İmre, Antalya Technopark General Manager Dr. İbrahim Yavuz, ANSIAD Board Members. The signed cooperation protocol aims to establish the ANSIAD Antalya Technopark Individual Participant Investor Network with the initiative of Antalya Industrialists and Business People Association and Antalya Technopark Manager and Operator Inc.

Golden Opportunity for Young Entrepreneurs

Akdeniz University's Rector, Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan, said the individual attendee investor network will be a first in the West Mediterranean Region. The İndividual Participant Investor Network is a project they care about a lot. Saying that there is a unique opportunity, especially for young entrepreneurs, Rector Özkan said, "It will make a significant contribution to our university, and since we have an angel network from now on, our companies' turnover will be contributed when they pass a certain stage and will be a light for young entrepreneurs. In this sense, it concerns us very closely. Thank you so much for this good project. Hopefully, it will be an efficient protocol."

Ideas and Capital will come Together

Stating that ideas are precious, some have opinions, some have capital, and what's important is that we can put them together on the same platform, Rector Özkan said, "Antalya is the perfect location for such investments. We have started to attract good companies to technopark. I hope this becomes a second Silicon Valley. This work will not only benefit the university or ANSIAD, and it will be useful to Antalya then Turkey. In this sense, it is precious. We will see how important it is in the coming times. I think it will grow with great momentum."

ANSIAD Chairman of the Board Akın Akıncı said, "It is an essential protocol for us. It is very precious that our city has assembled two important institutions and designed such a protocol for entrepreneurship, especially for young people. Akdeniz University is a brand in both our city and country. ANSIAD is the umbrella organization of the business world at the point of institutionalization in the Antalya West Mediterranean Region. The Angel Investment Network is explained

Antalya Technopark General Manager Dr. İbrahim Yavuz presented on the ANSIAD Antalya Technopark Angel Investment Network. Stating that they support young people as Antalya Technopark, offer incubation services, pre-incubation services, TTO activities and incorporate them, Dr. İbrahim Yavuz said, "But at some point, these initiatives are left alone. We did not set up the angel investment network in Istanbul and Ankara the way the young people wanted. Our biggest goal as a young entrepreneur, who started both an academic and a technopark life, is to be held their hands even if it is 200 thousand or 300 thousand in all the support given by the government, this is how the main business idea came out. Agriculture and tourism are very important in Antalya, but technology is precious to us. In this sense, I would like to thank Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan and Akın Akıncı, who helped pave the way for this path.

The launch of ANSIAD Antalya Technopark Angel Investment Network ended with a mutual signature between Akdeniz University Antalya Technopark and Antalya Industrialists and Business People Association (ANSIAD).

It is aimed to create and expand the regional investment ecosystem culture, to develop and strengthen the regional investment ecosystem, and to increase investment opportunities for developing early-stage technology initiatives, primarily in Antalya and the West Mediterranean Region (Antalya, Isparta, and Burdur) with ANSIAD Antalya Technopark Individual Participant Investor Network (ANSIAD Antalya Technopark IPI Network).
