Signatures were signed for the construction of the TAI R&D Building in the Akdeniz University Antalya Technopark entity. In the R&D Building, a 25-year investment, high-tech defense industry projects of TAI, especially the National Combat Aircraft Project, will be carried out.
Akdeniz University Rector Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan, General Manager of Antalya Technopark Dr. İbrahim Yavuz, and TAI General Manager Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil signed the contract for TAI National Combat Aircraft R&D and Design Center Building at the signing ceremony held in Ankara Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. Central.

Akdeniz University Rector Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan stated that they are proud to be a part of the National Combat Aircraft Project, which took to the runway for the first time on the anniversary of the March 18 Çanakkale Victory. "Yesterday was just a dream, today it will be on the runway, and tomorrow it will be in the sky together," she said.
GOOD NEWS TO STUDENTS ABOUT CAREER PROJECT
Rector Özkan gave information on a study that will increase collaboration with TAI and contribute to the student's careers. Also, she said that they have reached an agreement regarding the TAI Career project for Akdeniz University students.
Stating that a training laboratory will be established in the Faculty of Engineering within the framework of the cooperation with TAI, Rector Özkan said Akdeniz University students will have the opportunity to see high-tech production and R&D studies in TAI production facilities with the TAI Career program.

Antalya Technopark General Manager Dr. İbrahim Yavuz also emphasized that the cooperation with TAI is a great gain for both the university and the city. “In the R&D Building, where an investment of 25 years will be made by TAI, engineers, software developers, and students will be employed,” he added.
WITH 6 THOUSAND SQUARE METERS OF AREA
In this context, TAI's high technology-oriented defense industry projects, especially the National Combat Aircraft Project, will be carried out in the TAI R&D Building with a closed area of 6000 m² to be built in Antalya Technopark by TAI. The R&D building is planned to be operational within a year.

The first step of the cooperation between Akdeniz University Antalya Technopark and TAI, an essential asset of our country's defense industry, was taken on March 12, 2022. Antalya Technopark TAI R&D Office opening and TAI National Combat Aircraft R&D and Design Center area allocation signing ceremony was held at Akdeniz University Antalya Technopark by the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank.
